Terms of Service

By using Bankstand you agree to these terms. If you don't, don't use it.

1. What Bankstand is

A progression tracker for Old School RuneScape. It reads publicly published character data, and, if you choose to install the RuneLite plugin, data your own game client already holds. Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data when you use Bankstand.

Bankstand is in early access. Features change and disappear, and data may be lost. Don't treat it as a system of record.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Bankstand account. We chose this minimum age so that users can independently consent to optional plugin capabilities. Bankstand's public pages don't require an account and aren't restricted by age.

You may have only one Bankstand account. Don't create additional ones to get around a restriction. This is a Bankstand rule, not a Jagex one: Jagex's own rules allow multiple game accounts, and nothing here limits how many Old School RuneScape characters or accounts you play.

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has access.

3. Characters and claims

Adding a character to your list is a self-declaration, not proof of ownership, and it isn't exclusive: more than one account can list the same character. A claim gives you your own private view of that character, and does not give you control over it or over anyone else's view of it.

The RuneLite plugin can mark a character as verified. That is a stronger signal than a claim and it still isn't proof. Bankstand can't verify who owns an Old School RuneScape account, and doesn't pretend to.

Don't claim a character to impersonate its owner or to attach false information to it.

4. Acceptable use

Don't:

  • Attempt to access data belonging to another user.
  • Submit data you know to be false, including through a modified plugin.
  • Automate, script or scrape the site beyond ordinary use, or place load on it that affects other people.
  • Use Bankstand to break Jagex's rules, or to help anyone else do so.
  • Republish Bankstand-authored guide content without permission. Some guide material is derived from the Old School RuneScape Wiki and remains under that source's CC BY-NC-SA licence; where that licence grants you reuse rights (with attribution, non-commercial use, and share-alike), this restriction doesn't take them away. The rest of our guide content is ours and isn't covered by that licence.

We can suspend or remove an account that does any of this.

5. The plugin

The Bankstand RuneLite plugin is provided under the BSD 2-Clause Licence and its source is public. It reads game state and never automates play. Bankstand is not an official RuneLite plugin or Jagex software, and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by either project. Using it is at your own risk, and you are responsible for complying with Jagex's rules and RuneLite's terms.

6. Availability and warranty

Bankstand is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. It depends on services we don't control, including Jagex's hiscores, Wise Old Man and our hosting provider, and it will be unavailable or wrong sometimes. Data shown may be stale: characters refresh on a schedule, not live.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss arising from use of Bankstand, including lost data, lost time, or decisions made from what it showed you. Nothing in this section limits liability that can't legally be excluded, including for intentional misconduct.

7. Ending it

You can stop using Bankstand at any time and ask for your account to be deleted. If we end your access instead, for breaking these terms or because we stop running the service, we handle your data the same way: as described in the Privacy Policy's section on your rights.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as Bankstand, the law, or a service we depend on changes. We will give reasonable notice of a material change on the site before it takes effect. If you don't agree with the new terms, you can stop using Bankstand and delete your account.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, where Bankstand is operated from. Bankstand itself is available to players worldwide, and if you are a consumer this doesn't take away any mandatory protection the law where you live gives you; this section names which law applies by default, not who may use the service.

10. Not affiliated

Bankstand is an independent project. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Jagex Ltd or the RuneLite project. Old School RuneScape is a trademark of Jagex Ltd.
